We are delighted to be instructed on this opportunity to join a public inquiry in Edinburgh as an Investigation Paralegal. This is a unique opportunity to join the Inquiry and contribute to work of significant importance, while gaining valuable experience within a professional, multidisciplinary environment.
The role
Working closely with the Inquiry’s solicitors and counsel, you will provide paralegal support in relation to investigations into matters falling within the Inquiry’s Terms of Reference.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of formal notices to recover evidence
- Reviewing and analysing documents and evidence gathered by the Inquiry
- Supporting solicitors and counsel with ongoing investigations
- Working with detailed and potentially sensitive information
- Providing high-quality paralegal support as part of a busy, multidisciplinary team
About you
The team is keen to hear from candidates who have previous paralegal experience or other relevant experience.
You should be highly conscientious, organised and comfortable working with detailed information. Given the nature of the Inquiry’s work, you will also require a professional and sensitive approach and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
The details
- Location: Central Edinburgh
- Contract: Fixed term for 23 months
- Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
- Working pattern: Primarily office-based, with flexibility to work from home for up to two days per week
